Good afternoon - this is my book, ‘Floriana and the Lost Friend.’ It had always been a dream of mine to have a book published, which I can now say I have done. Whilst it was achieved using the self-publishing method, it is out there for the children of the world to read and to hopefully help our children to look after each other.
The main five characters are based on my family, and they will be introduced in time. I am eternally grateful to the talented artist that is Katt Loydon, who brought them to life (or print) and who does so much more than illustrate books. To start with, she used to pour wonderful pints when we met in our local pub, but she also does theatrical makeup and is a talented individual. She can be found online using her name to search.

I suppose I should start with the main character, that being Floriana. This is based on my beautiful granddaughter and brought to life by the wonderful illustrator Kat Loydon.
All the characters’ names come from the Island of Malta, where we spent many happy holidays, and an island that will forever hold a special place in our hearts. And because of this, I scoured a map of the island to find appropriate names for the fairies.
I also follow football, and whilst checking out the Maltese league at the weekend, I found this. How I wish my book could be at the top of the best-selling league :-)
